As soon as you have both addresses and an expected date. If the date is not fixed yet, say so and give a likely window.

Planning a home move? Share both properties, what is moving and the access at each end.

Stairs, lifts, parking and carrying distance at the old and new property shape the crew and vehicle needed. Tell us the floor level at each address and whether parking is on-street, permit-only or on a drive.

Give the property size and list the large items: beds, wardrobes, sofas, white goods, pianos or garden furniture. Note anything fragile, valuable or unusually heavy so it can be considered separately.

The items and approximate volume, route between both postcodes, access and parking at each property, and carrying distance help us assess the move. Tell us if you want packing or furniture dismantling; these are never assumed and only form part of the job when set out in your quote. We review each move individually rather than applying a generic price by bedroom count.

Your preferred moving date remains a request until availability is checked and the booking is confirmed. If you are in a chain or waiting on completion, tell us how fixed the date is.
Describe the load rather than worry about choosing the perfect label. A few boxes and a small item of furniture may suit a smaller transport job. A larger home move needs assessment of the complete inventory, handling requirements and access so the team and vehicle can be planned.
The number of movers should be confirmed against the items and access. Do not assume every van comes with a two-person team. Tell us about items that need more than one person to handle and whether you require all lifting to be provided.
Mention packing at the enquiry stage, including fragile items and the number of rooms involved. We will check whether a suitable partner can provide it and how materials are charged. Unless it is expressly included, prepare your belongings for transport before the team arrives.
Request this in advance and send photographs, dimensions and the item’s make or model where known. We need to check suitability, tools and time with the operator. Dismantling or assembly should appear in the confirmed scope rather than be assumed on moving day.
Ask for the cover applicable to the assigned operator and your goods before booking. Check limits, exclusions, excesses, packing conditions and the claims procedure. Do not assume that public liability insurance covers every loss or that another company’s advertised cover applies to LoadBadger.
